ABOUT Dyslexic OT

Why I created Dyslexic OT

My understanding of dyslexia comes from both professional and personal experience.

As an Occupational Therapist, I’ve seen how dyslexia can affect much more than reading and writing. It can impact organisation, planning, confidence, energy levels, and everyday life. As a dyslexic adult, I understand the hidden effort that often goes unnoticed.

And as a parent supporting a dyslexic young adult, I see how confidence can be affected during important life transitions.

These experiences inspired me to create a space where dyslexic adults feel understood, supported, and empowered.

Hoe can Occupational Therapy support Dyslexic Adults?

Many people are surprised to learn that Occupational Therapists can support dyslexic adults.

Occupational Therapy focuses on helping people participate in the activities that matter most to them.

That might include:

  • Managing workload and deadlines

  • Organising daily tasks

  • Reducing burnout and fatigue

  • Developing executive functioning skills

  • Navigating workplace challenges

  • Building confidence and self-advocacy

Together, we explore the relationship between you, your environment, and the demands of everyday life to find strategies that work for you.

● Struggle with organisation and planning

● Are experiencing dyslexic burnout

● Have received a late diagnosis
